As a rule, workplace conflicts are very stressful:
Mediation is proven to be effective in resolving disputes among siblings and other family members over inheritances and estates, over questions of how to provide care for ageing and sick parents and other types of such conflicts. Well-structured mediation helps the involved parties to
With me as your mediator, you will get the benefit of my many years of wide-ranging professional experience as a conflict counsellor, systemic supervisor, therapist and as a lawyer. Because of my background in these varied roles, I have an eye for the broader legal and economic contexts of any dispute.
Conflicts escalate more often in family firms than in other types of enterprises because
My own experiences have taught me about the values of family firms and how they differ from those of other businesses. I understand the built-in pitfalls and inherent conflicts of family firms as well as the benefits that external counsel can bring. Observing the particularities of a range of different family firms and working for a spell in my own family's business, I have developed special expertise in this area. One of the focal points of my mediations and consultations is the transfer of ownership and leadership in agricultural businesses under the Höfeordnung, Germany's inheritance law for farms.
My organisational consulting can help you optimize your

Misunderstandings can be resolved, setbacks overcome and stress can be reduced when interconnections are recognized and acknowledged in context, limits are identified self-efficacy is experienced.
My systemic counselling approach prioritizes focussing on problem solving, mutual appreciation and the recognition of often complex interrelationships.
The endeavour closest to my heart is counselling couples and families. In most cases, just a few interventions can help to significantly increase well-being and to gain a better understanding of each other. Communication about communication, also known as meta-communication, frequently works wonders, but can only be achieved with external support. Rest assured of my confidentiality, understanding and respectful appreciation.
I am a systemic counsellor, therapist and supervisor (DGSF ), as well as a mediator (BM, DGSF) and lawyer. I am certified by the German Society for Systemic Therapy, Counselling and Family Therapy (DGSF) and by the Federal Association for Mediation (BM). I am also a DGSF-certified teacher of systemic counselling, coaching, supervision and mediation.
I live in Hamburg; I am married and have three children. In addition to my counselling and supervision work, I am active in teaching. Previously, I represented the German Caritas Association and the Diakonisches Werk at the European institutions in Brussels for several years. I also worked for a time in my family's business.
I studied law and did my legal clerkship in Berlin, and completed a Master of Laws in London. I qualified as a systemic consultant, mediator and supervisor (DGSF) and systemic therapist as well as a teacher (DGSF) after successfully completing training at the Hamburg Institute for Systemic Training (HISW).
As a systemic counsellor, therapist and mediator licensed by Germany's Federal Association for Mediation (Bundesverband Mediation e.V. - BM) and as a supervisor certified by the German Association for Systemic Therapy, Counseling and Family Therapy (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Systemische Therapie, Beratung und Familientherapie - DGSF), I advise families and family businesses, organisations, individual clients, couples, and teams. I am also a certified teacher (DGSF) of systemic counselling, coaching, supervision and mediation.
Every new development, reorientation or handover is challenging and requires good communication and creative ideas and solutions. Often, challenging questions and conflicts arise, which--if they are well resolved--can open the door to something new.
Due to my long and varied experience working as a counsellor, supervisor, mediator and lawyer, I can offer you support in shaping these professional and personal transitions and changes in constructive and fruitful ways. I can also help you in coping with stressful life situations and in overcoming destructive communication patterns.
The underlying basis for my solution-oriented approach to counselling, supervision and mediation is openness, transparency and clearly structured communication, as well as a respectful appreciation of all stakeholders in the process.
